TRIBUTE to my Papa
Mr. Roberto Barrameda Delavin, people call him Robert, Bert, but i call him Papa.
Eversince i can remember, my Papa has been the driving force in my life. He’s a dreamer, an achiever, and a very straight-forward person. Sometimes he can be very pushy and bossy but that’s part of his really strong personality, the personality that made me who i am today, the personality that pushed me to prove myself worthy of my father’s trust.
Even when i was younger, Papa taught me that settling for less is not an option, that if you’re going to do something, you have to do it with the best you can and give it your 100%. I learned that excelling in what you do feels really good and is fulfilling, giving you confidence and that sense of being worthy.
My life journey with my Papa has not been an easy road. Of course, there were rough and bumpy roads that came our way but through it all, we remain standing. Sometimes i feel like there’s a wall between us (i still feel that way at times), that hinders us from totally opening each other’s doors and fully embracing our individualities. But i know there’s a way to work things out..we’ll get there in time.
I’m just very thankful to you, my Papa, for bringing out both the best and worst in me. Because of you i’ve discovered both worlds, i’ve came to know my strengths and weaknesses. Things i’ve got to work on and things i’ve got to empower and continue to improve on. Life won’t be as colorful as it is without you in it. I thank God for giving me a father like you, a strong-minded, pricipled and very grounded person who sticks to what he believes in. I may not tell you this often, but Pa, i love you, with all my heart, and thank you for everything. I owe you my life and the foundation of my being. I miss you!
