Silence that Kills

Silence is a good thing. Most of the time, it symbolizes peace and tranquility. It gives a person time to think, look back and internalize on things. But there is this kind of silence that can sometimes be so deafening that one is almost drowning in it. Silence that you don’t want to experience, silence that hurts from deep within.

The past few days had been pretty much full of silence for me, and not the good kind. I am kinda in the middle of a situation where I can’t really choose sides. It’s like i’m at the center of the battleground with two countries at war on both sides. One of the countries, let’s call it Bosnia, who started the war for no reason at all, is against Uganda. Uganda is usually a submissive country, just bowing and giving way to the demands of Bosnia, not saying a word everytime tension starts to build. But this time, Uganda decided that it had enough, and it will not be bending down to whatever Bosnia demands from it. Of course, with Uganda’s decision, the budding tension exploded and the nation in between, which we’re calling Switzerland, is caught in the middle of the two warring countries. Switzerland, not knowing what to do, stays in the middle of the war, receiving blows from both camps. It’s trying it’s best to settle the differences between Bosnia and Uganda, makinh amends for both countries to declare cease fire and make peace.

I don’t know if my analogy made any sense. All i know is that being in the middle of something that you don’t want to be in in the first place is really hard. Sometimes, you just wanna get lost right then and there just to break away from the tension. No words are being said but you can definitely feel that something’s not right. I would rather, they are shouting at each other, at least i know what’s really going on than being in this position where you are guessing what on Earth is going on, especially with Bosnia. You see, i’m not a big fan of the “silent treatment” so i go nuts when this happens. Oh well, i just hope Switzerland succeeds on its plan to have a peace treatu between Ugabda and Bosnia.
